FEATURED EVENT — WEEK OF MAY 11, 2026 Lake Orion Art & Flower Fair: The Best Weekend Market in Metro Detroit This May

Two days, 100 juried artists, and a downtown full of flowers — here's everything you need to know before you go

If you are looking for something worth making a day out of this weekend, the Lake Orion Art & Flower Fair runs Saturday May 16 and Sunday May 17 in Downtown Lake Orion. Organized by the Orion Art Center, this is a juried art and craft market — every vendor on the floor was reviewed and accepted based on the quality and originality of their work.

That standard matters. It means every booth you stop at is selling something genuinely handcrafted and original.

What you will find there.

The fair features 100 juried booth spaces split across two vendor categories — art, craft, and handmade goods on one side, and flowers, plants, and botanical materials on the other. The event also includes live demonstrations, a kids area, and additional downtown entertainment. Downtown Lake Orion's shops and restaurants are steps away from the street fair footprint.

When to go.

Saturday hours run 10 AM to 6 PM. Sunday hours are 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is free.

The event is located at East Flint St & N Broadway St in Downtown Lake Orion, MI 48362.

Why it matters.

The Lake Orion Art & Flower Fair requires that all work be original and handmade by the displaying artist. No resellers. No mass-produced goods. That is a higher standard than most open-entry vendor fairs — and it makes for a better shopping experience.

Every dollar you spend at a juried craft fair goes directly to an independent maker or artist. That is what Made in the D is about. And this weekend, Downtown Lake Orion is where it is happening.
